About Us:

At Century 21 we care very deeply about our community.  Not only is it the place we work and make a living, but it is the place where our families live.  What we do in this community makes a lasting mark on our families lives.  That is why we sat down and tried to come up with a good way we could give back to the community that has given us so much.  (For more information about our business please click here to check out our website.)

We fell in love with Georgetown as the Red Poppy Capitol of Texas.  The Red Poppy is one of natures most beautiful wild flowers.  Legend has it that soldiers returning home from Europe after World War I ended brought with them the Red Poppy seeds.  It is our honor to help fulfill their vision.  It is to that end that we decided to dedicate our time and resources.

Imagine driving up interstate 35 and as soon as you hit the border of Georgetown you see fields of Red Poppies as far as the eye can see.  It would be hard to imagine a more beautiful sight.  Many go to New England to see the trees change color in the fall, or to Colorado to see the mountains, or to San Juan Capistrano to see the swallows return.  These are all things that leave a mark on the memory.  These are also all things that would be very difficult if not impossible to recreate.  But what we have a chance to do here is to create our own lasting memory.

Besides the obvious beauty of the flowers themselves, the real beauty of wild flowers is the fact that with no effort on our part they return every year.  So if you plant a field or roadside with poppies this year, that field will always have poppies.  With a little concentrated effort we could make a dramatic effect for years and years to come.  If we intentionaly plant each year, we will see a multiplying effect of Red Poppies spreading across our community.  We have a chance to create our own natural wonder that would draw tourists from across the nation.

It was this intoxicating vision that compelled us to move forward with organizing a community wide effort to plant the poppies.  We have been very encouraged and overwhelmed with the response from the community.  We are honored to play our small part in this project and look forward to helping out for years to come.
